OTOH, it could just be a coinidence.

I know nothing definitive other than the fact that it has apparently gone away. Given the condition of my timing chain and guides, i have to wonder if it was the result of the secondary tensioner not recieving full oil pressure causing the chain to hit the guides at high RPM.
OTOH, it could just be a coinidence.

My 2012 just threw the Dreaded P0021 and P0524 codes....
Initially I notice it wouldn't downshift into the higher rpms, it would literally cut power at around 4K. It first threw a P0021 and P0300 and started running really rough. Replaced my cam position sensor, and reset codes. Sensor helped the car run smoother and then shortly after driving 15 miles it threw the P0021 and P0524. Cars going to the dealership Tuesday next week. Yay!
Mileage 51k, bought with 31k on it a year ago lease return.

I just had mine fixed, and will keep it for a while.
The repair isn't that expensive if you don't get it done at a dealer.
I had mine fixed at a Nissan performance shop, and it cost me $2100CAD, which is $1550USD, that includes new crank sprocket and timing chain.

What made you sell it after you paid for fixing it?

I wish lawyer who is a G37 owner would have this issue and decided one day to sue Nissan and at that time subpoena records to see exactly how many engine Nissan has already fixed.
I am at 66,000 miles right now and still running strong but would love to know exactly what the chances are. I still have my original G35 with 256,000 miles and technically zero major issues. For some reason I don't think my 2012 G37 will last that long.
And that was my intent when I bought it.

which year of the G35? I have the original first run of 2003.
I don't remember ever hearing from anyone that this happened on any 2003 or 2004 models.
