P0011 -_-

Soooo randomly driving to work today and car just literally like hits rev limit at like 3500 rpm's. Assuming im in limp, then i got a check engine light with the P0011 Code, So did some research i am assuming its the cam gasket . anyone else had that problem? Is there a better gasket than oem thats not paper to use so i dont have this issue again? Figures would happen literally a week from when i have to pull the motor out to Fab up the turbo kit SMH

Do you mean the rear timing cover gasket?

By chance do you have an OBD scanner?
I have a theory of how mode $06 can be used to determine if your timing cover gasket is leaking and would like to test it. This would make it VERY easy for anyone to see if they have the issue.

Bummer Kevin, but at least you're already planning to pull the motor, much better than after you "new" build is back in. If indeed it is the gasket, and that P0011 is the code that is present when most of these failures occur, there is an improved metal enhanced gasket that has been used since 2012. Here's some threads on it, some are epic in length and I don't have a quick link for the part list unfortunately https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-cou...xperience.html How To Remove Timing Chain Cover, Valve Cover, Timing Chain - G35Driver Cause for the dreaded P0011/P0021 codes that everyone is curious about - Page 3 - G35Driver Good Luck!

Yup thats same one i read, to be honest though it could just be oil. i noticed i was really low on oil. i wonder if i was just low and caused low oil pressure, only reason i haven't been more motivated to be on this like you said im pulling the motor out this weekend anyway. but. i am def due for an oil change.

Someone help?

Hello,
My name is Paweł and I live in Poland. Unfortunately, I could not find information on this subject in Polish forums.

Did the Infiniti G37x from 2013 also have problems with these gaskets?
I have similar symptoms, but I have just bought a car and I have not checked, for example, whether the oil level is correct (the pressure lamp is not light). I have not changed the oil yet.

Greetings from Poland

Welcome to the site, the 2013 models have the updated gasket. Usually you will get a "Service Engine Soon" light then you have to read the code that triggered that light. What symptoms are you having?

Thank you for your answer.

The error codes that the tester showed are:
-P0011
-P0300

When I bought a car, the "check engine" was on. The car spins up to 3,500 revolutions per minute. At low engine speed it seemed to fade.

I disconnected the wires from the phasing, camshaft sensors and connected back. It was a bit better. The check engine has gone out, but it is still not what it should be.

Variable camshaft phases were interrupting their operation.
At the moment I was driving very short distances.
Tomorrow I change the oil and we will see maybe it will be better.

Question on how I can figure out if the gasket is gone with the OBd2 scanner

Hey I was reading thru the forum and I read about your theory. My 2008 g37s came up with the P0011, if you can please teach me how to diagnose it with the scanner?

Unfortunately, it only works on 2011 and newer models as that is when Infiniti updated the programming of the ECU to show camshaft position test results.
Your best bet is to check the oil pressure.
