Swapping engine

Swapping engine

rod bearing went out most likely. in my 09 g37.

Looking around locally for a used block and found a few but wondering if it has to be the same year engine or if can I throw in a later model like '10+

that works. i have a 09 g37x and changed the engine from a 10 g37x, which had the the same issue

i heard the newer ones were upgraded so they don't get the p0021 or p0022 codes from the paper gaskets in the inner timing cover. i wish i did a write up on it

Yeah, if you can find a 2012+ that would be ideal as the inferior timing gasket was "fixed" in 2012+ models.
