I never thought of looking in the FSM for the data. Awesome problem solving! I will ask Frank. That said, double checking actual measurements might be a good CYA thing to do as well.

You might be onto something. I'm currently deployed overseas so I'm unable to get under my car.

Right, update: so according to the FSMs and the parts locators both the coupe and sedan 37X have the same driveshaft. That would mean, if correct, that since we are sort of split between coupes and sedans it would help us in a GB situation. That said those two sources have been known to have incorrect information in them from time to time.

He would still need to see what the end flanges look like as well, and physically measuring them would guarantee we don't drop a large amount of money on some lazy data writers copy paste abilities when making the FSM that might be incorrect.

I wish this thread made some progress. The Driveshaft Shop is a 4hr drive from me in North Carolina, I'd be willing to make the drive over there if enough people are interested. I'd have to wait until like April 2017 though, since I won't be back in the states for a couple more months.

Anybody ever measure it? I might try calling Infiniti parts guy at Roswell Infiniti here in Georgia to see what the oem one measures. So I’m asking about just the rear driveshaft?Wonder what the actual weight savings could be?

Not that I am aware of. I never got time to drop the driveshaft. I called a few different places, even messaged people with the dirveshaft for sale, to get a measurement and all of them were different; so I never trusted the information since it wasn't first hand.

I stopped trusting a lot of used parts places because they incorrectly label parts on the X models assuming it will fit any G37. I think that was the problem with when i checked around. That and everyone measured different, or the yoke was missing, or any number of things that can be a waste of $600 because I didn't do it myself.

I still have the funds aside for it. When I talked to them last year it was like 5 needed to get a discount, otherwise it was a flat rate. I would chip in with you if you get one, least we could save on shipping.

Totally agree. I’m about buying one off eBay and measure it. I’m not sure how to go about removing that to measure and definitely not sure how to put it back... I tried reaching out to a few people today about it. Maybe it will go somewhere...

I'm still in for one 100%. Every time I think about it is one more step to my finally dropping the exhaust and then the driveshaft to get the dumb measurement, lol. I would love to do this before I upgrade the rear sub-frame bushings.
