best radiator cap/hoses?
best radiator cap/hoses?
Sup Fam,
I believe it's time to replace my radiator cap as it has yet to be replaced ever (68k miles on the car).
Is there a "best" radiator cap? If so, what company and where can I get it?
I am debating just going to Advanced Auto and buying this:
CARQUEST or Stant Radiator Cap 10267: Advance Auto Parts
Only $13 so how can you beat that.. The only thing is that it looks kinda ugly, and I would like a more "aftermarket-ee" looking cap, but one that also does meet the pressure standards.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Triippy

A reputable aftermarket hose is ok. As for radiator caps or thermostats, stick with oem or a performance model if you race/track the car.
When was the last time the coolant got changed?

Other than dressing up the engine or if it is leaking, there is no need to replace your rad cap. They are not a normal maintenance item.
The rad cap on my Maxima lasted 246,000 miles and on my Altima 205,000 miles.

This, never in my life have I had to replace a radiator cap. The cap will always outlast the radiator.
