Help JK41A vs. CD009
JK41A vs. CD009
So I have been contemplating swapping a 6 speed in to replace the 5sp auto that came with my '08 Coupe. I have come across this JK41A part number and have never heard of this. I know all about the CD001-9 series and the syncro/shifter issues that come with them until later years so, I'm wanting to know is there a difference? The CD009 trans has been very proven in the 2J world to hold up and over 1000hp and are very smooth and reliable. What is this JK41A trans?
In case anyone searches this later. The JK41A is the 6 speed trans that came in ALL of the 2008-2015 Infiniti G and Q manual cars. Nissan used the CD00x series on the 350/370z. They are interchangeable BUT it will have the internal concentric slave cylinder/clutch release bearing, rather than the external slave cylinder and clutch fork/release bearing setup that the CD009 has.
Also, the known synchro issues in the CD/JK series were revised before this trans was manufactured so this is one of the better/newest options.

can you double check your research? as far as i know the 6MT 350z, 370z and the g37 got the clutch slave cylinder inside the transmission bell housing.

Not sure if you noticed but that's MY thread on ClubLexus lol, I went from a SC300 to the G37.. Those guys are pro's and would be the first to say otherwise. But yes to confirm again, the JK41A uses an internal concentric slave with an external bleeder and the CD uses an external slave cylinder and clutch fork/release bearing. Z speed Performance make kits to replace the internal plastic ones because they tend to break after upgrading the clutch.
