OMG....did I just scarf my G37?

Ok, freaking out a bit. Was fairly active on the boards in years past & went dark....life happens & dialed it back. But holy crap I could sure use some help. I've got an 09 G37s sedan that's basically stock except for some suspensions stuff. 144K issue-free miles & "fairly" consistent with oil changes always with P ultra or P platinum. I don't abuse my ride, but I do drive it. Today, I was driving & stepped on it to make a pass.....redlined it. After it went into third, it sputtered, lost power, and turned on a pretty hearty knocking noise. I was two blocks from home & limped it to the driveway. Checked oil....down at the very bottom of the stick. Panicked. Added a quart. Started it hoping she was ok. No dice. Knocking like a hammer from the inside out. Am I smoked?

Heres a quick vid. Got it off the road within a half mile. Gotta get it towed somewhere for a look. My daily driver. Am I in trouble, as in, catastrophic/replacement....or repairable? & never had a low oil warning light. I'm gonna throw up.

have someone check to see how much damage was done.. that knock sounds substantial.. im guessin you require an overhaul considering you dont know what else was damaged from the lack of lube.. have you noticed any leaks after the last change.. do you do your own changes..

Nope, never ever any leaks of any kind. Fluids always changed at infiniti's quick serve lube shop. Job change last year reduced my driving by more than 80%, so it's been a while since last oil change & have never noticed oil consumption being an issue since owning the car new. All the more reason I was shocked to find the oil so low when this happened. Gotta get it to a shop...but that's scary with the vultures looking to take advantage of someone's misfortune. Anyone in Sacramento with a recommendation for an honest mechanic who won't screw me? Definitely hesitant to inquire with the local Infiniti dealer. Dammit.

Get it towed to a shop. Don't be driving that anymore until you get it looked at. Good luck!

Nope....this is certainly out of my league. Took the vid immediately as I parked it after this happened. Haven't started it since & won't.

has she been smoking at all... wonder where the oil consumption was...
always make it a habit to check oil level.. even right after change since you didn't do it..

Nope. Never emitted any smoke whatsoever. Always a clean & smooth running car.....until this. Sucks, just a few days ago I tried to get in for an oil change & ran out of time. Even while driving yesterday was thinking "gotta get it in...gotta get it in" & bam.
