LSD swap questions

I have a 11' Journey. (Please no talk about how I should have bought a "S" in the first place. I got a pretty good deal on my car as it is.) I really don;t like the open diff and want a VLSD. I have a 7at and I am wondering a few things. I can get a Sport rear diff from a G37S vert (7at) and a G37S sedan (7at). Will either of these be a direct bolt on for my 11' 7at non sport? Do either one of these offer a diff ration benefit as opposed to the ration I have now? Any issues with my current drive shaft?
Thanks!

The vert has a shorter ratio (3.9) which should put a smile on your face in the lower gears. AT diffs should be interchangeable. Do some research on here, there are quite a few threads on this topic.

OK. Looks like if I want the lower gear and the VLSD I need to find a 6MT rear end from a "S".

Will the 6MT VLSD from an 08 coupe fit my 11' Sedan? I found one and want to pick it up.

Yes, but you will have to change the flange from your at diff to the manual diff. plus the gearing in the Mt diff will be 3.69 instead of your at 3.3.

Convertibles also didn't come with a LSD, including the sport.

If you're gonna go through the trouble of swapping out diffs, would recommend a Quaife Helical unit (only because there aren't any other helical units).

Nothing beats mechanical torque multiplying to the inside wheels

One of the reasons I want to do it . I figure for around 450 bucks I'll get better performance than 1000 bucks for an exhaust and CAI intake.

I agree, the performance per dollar return on doing gears in our cars is totally worth the money. although, swapping in some 3.90 gears would be a more significant change and offer more bang for your buck. I love my 3.90 gears, best mod I have done to my car hands down.
