Good luck on the install, Connor. I think I'll adjust my AFP today so it's similar to John's setup: one turn from max AFP.

Thanks Liam - I'll wait until later this afternoon once the sun recedes behind the house. That'll give me a cooler space to work - since it's forecasted to be 92 degrees today...

Well, I'm officially an idiot. I went to adjust the AFP **** from the ~70% setting (3 full turns from max AFP) I set when I installed the pedal over a year ago to one full turn from max AFP. However, when I started turning the adjustment **** counter-clockwise, I was able to turn it 8 full turns before I reached max AFP (The pedal assembly allows 10 full turns of adjustment)

Why did this happen? Because I forgot to tighten down the AFP adjustment **** lock screw

So, after 10k+ miles of driving, the adjustment **** was slowly making it's way back to 0% AFP, i.e. stock pedal engagement feel. And all this time, it never dawned on me to check the AFP setting.

Oh well, lesson learned and I now have the AFP adjusted to ~90% max and boy does the pedal feel much lighter!

So, Conner and anyone else installing this pedal assembly, make sure you lock down that screw: circled in yellow in pic below.

While I was at it, I also adjusted the 3 bolts that hold the clutch pedal arm to the main assembly so that the pedal is about even with the brake pedal.

Now for a test drive with the new setting...

Good pics on the pedal height adjustment. LOL at the lock-bolt situation.

Liam, there was a discussion about the RJM pedal height at the meet-up. Maybe you were part of it... IDK. So hard to get you to shut up and stop talking. Anyway, Pedro's OEM pedal is approximately 1/2" higher (closer) than the brake pedal. Mine's about 1/4". Yours sure looks flush. Until this weekend, I wasn't sure where I wanted the pedal, because I didn't have a point of reference. Now that I do, I think I want to raise it back up another 1/4".

And I can't believe you only just now created a SN on the forum. You freaking lurker.

Geez John, you're even more of an a-hole online then you are in person

I do recall that conversation about the pedal height. When I went to adjust the AFP **** this morning, I noticed my pedal was actually lower than the brake pedal. I haven't driven around enough with the new pedal height to notice a real difference, though. But man, I'm loving the lightness of the pedal at the new setting; that was very noticeable to me. However, IMO, the difference in the engagement window area wasn't as dramatic a change as I thought it would be from the old setting.

I'm just amazed what a fantastic job you did modding your car, all the while using the forum as a resource without adding your voice to it.

Carry on, dude.

i checked my OEM setup (haven't yet installed my RJM) and it is also ~1/4"-1/2" higher than the brake pedal. i don't mind this offset so when I do my RJM i'll try to get as close to this as possible.

I wouldn't worry much about the pedal height relative the brake pedal. Adjust it to where it's most comfortable.

RJM Performance Clutch Pedal Assembly

Pedal installed this AM. Took me about 2.5hrs from start to completion beer.

Current AFP setting is 90% and I couldn't be happier. I did not adjust the clutch rod portion - clutch fork is all the way screwed down on the clutch rod and connected to the pedal assembly. Shifting is smooth and easy now.

I'm noticing that because shifting is so easy, I'm spending more time shifting so I'm definitely moving up the TWM short shift installation. That + a new **** will be a great addition to the new RJM pedal assembly.

Happy to hear you got it done. You were very determined about it last weekend.

Don't forget the lock bolt when you're done.

Driving Mods, FTW.

Well now it makes sense why mine is so stiff from full left turn counter clock wise.

I dont see how. The adjustment is for the engagement area, not for pedal resistance.

Tonight I adjusted the pedal height a little higher, to match OEM height, which is approximately 1/2" higher than the brake.

I just drove my kid around shopping, and have a definate opinion on this. Honestly, I should have paid more attention to pedal height up front. Don't know why I didn't. Maybe because I didn't know until last weekend what OEM pedal height was.

Anyway, I'm much more happy with the pedal higher than the brake. It's been weird these last few weeks, constantly adjusting my driver's seat, and now I realize that awkwardness was because of the pedal. With the higher clutch pedal, I can pull the seat back where I prefer it to be, and still feel confident on the clutch.

Obviously it's all personal preference. But there's ergonomic logic to OEM pedal placement, and I get why that is now.

Awesome. That must be very satisfying. I'll post on this thread when I install my flappy paddles.
