Broken speed sensor bolt in Diff Cover
Broken speed sensor bolt in Diff Cover
Ran into another issue while replacing the diff bushing. The passenger side speed sensor bolt broke while trying to remove it. First, we broke an easy out while trying that, luckily we were able to remove the easy out with some patience. Then we decided to drill it out and tap the hole. The cobalt drill bit we used snapped inside the hole
. At this point we're out of ideas. Looking at replacing the diff cover (nismo finned cover I guess). Any other ideas?

I'd go the replace the cover route.. I did a diff swap and whiteline bushings install a couple weeks back and didn't get the nismo cover. Had I had the issue you encountered with the speed sensor, I'd def order up a replacement cover ( i saw a cheap used one on ebay the other day) than trying to make your current one work in some fashion. Just make sure you allow the RTV sealant a proper amount of time to seal after you attach the nismo (or stock) replacement.
Will hold off on the replacement cover for now. My friend was able to use a Dremel and carbide shaping tool to clean out the hole. Going to pick up some helicoils and try that.
