I just bought a used 2010 G37x and went out for a night run to get coffee. On my way back home I pulled into my driveway and a cop pulled right behind me and threw on his lights. He said my car backfired when I passed him. Luckily no ticket or anything. What can I do to fix this and is this normal or not?

 

Did you have the used vehicle inspected at an Infiniti dealer prior to purchase and have them run the VIN number for a complete history of the vehicle?

Running the VIN # at an Infiniti dealer doesn't mean anything. It will only show any repairs or maintenance/issues done by an Infiniti dealer. They might have had repairs done out of warranty at private shop which will never show.
