I just bought a used 2010 G37x and went out for a night run to get coffee. On my way back home I pulled into my driveway and a cop pulled right behind me and threw on his lights. He said my car backfired when I passed him. Luckily no ticket or anything. What can I do to fix this and is this normal or not?

Did you have the used vehicle inspected at an Infiniti dealer prior to purchase and have them run the VIN number for a complete history of the vehicle?

He was probably pulling you over just to give you the heads up that your air/fuel ratio is jacked up.
I'm taking it to the dealer later this week. What should I tell them about this problem? The air/fuel ratio or/and it backfired? Would appreciate the help, just getting into cars and don't know much.
quote the opposite, cops in the hood ain't got time for that. its cops in peaceful quiet neighbors that have nothing to do that usually give PSA's to people.

Running the VIN # at an Infiniti dealer doesn't mean anything. It will only show any repairs or maintenance/issues done by an Infiniti dealer. They might have had repairs done out of warranty at private shop which will never show.
