R2C Filter Problem help

So about two weeks ago i installed the R2C intake, and today i opened my hood to check my oil as i do on a bi-weekly basis, comes to find out the filter was practically off the mid pipe. Seems to be a very slippery residue on the pipe possible from the inside the rubber of the filter? I was possibly thinking to sand the outside of the pipe so that the filter doesnt slip off? Any suggestions or has anyone come across this problem?

I think it's supposed to be the release agent they use in the plastic molds causing it to slip off. Rather than roughing up your pipes, I think the manufacturer recommends using some kind of solvent to clean the residue.

Personally, I'd do both.

Had the exact same issue. Do not scrape up the pipes or anything - unnecessary. Just take some rubbing alcohol to both the metal piping and the inner part of the rubber tubing. Reattach and you are good to go. I've had no issues in the past 2 months since doing this.
