5th and 6th Gear Overhang.
5th and 6th Gear Overhang.
Hey guys, just got my car back from the shop.
Had my Master and Slave cylinder replaced.
Everything shifts better and smoothly now.
Only problem I am running into is the 5th and 6th gear have a really huge over hang. If i go too much to the right it hits nothing.
Before my slave went out it would shift to 5th and 6th with no over hang whatsoever.
My mechanic told me with "years of shifting" it may have shifted but this is normal and natural.
I need second thoughts, anyone's 5th and 6th have a natural right over hang where it hits nothing?

Carnacious, your shifter guide plate needs to be adjusted. See Shift Control > Installation in TM-20 (TM.pdf, page 20) of the service manual for this procedure.
This will solve your problems.
