Shifting gears in regular drive mode HELP!

Hey all, so the other day i opened up my dash and was fiddling around back there and did the "unmentionable", and now when i'm driving and i shift gears in regular drive it will shift gears, as if i was in DS mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You can still shift gears in D mode also. I will just went back to D mode after a few seconds or you can hold the up shift and it will went back to D mode right away.

I assume you mean you're using the paddle shifters to shift through the gears in D mode rather than using the paddles/stick in DS most. As Gina said, you can use the paddles to shift in D mode, to cancel, either flip the stick to DS and back, or just hold the right paddle for 5 seconds.

I didn't know you could hold it back to normal. When in D, mine switches back after a couple seconds.

that seems fairly obscure, is it actually documented? How long does it take to go back to auto mode on it's own if you just stop shifting?

I often drop a gear to do some manoeuvring then get annoyed when it doesn't go back to auto on it's own fast enough. doing DS-D is a bit cumbersome. Will try holding the paddle to see if it's any better. thanks!
