Looking at GTM TT kits

Hey guys sorry in advance if This has already been posted before. To start off I have a 2011 G37s 6MT

So I've been looking at the GTM Twin turbos kits as the title says and I was looking to get a Stage 2 kit which says it can increase hp up to 700 (optimally). I realize this high of hp would be safer if I got a better engine block like a stage 0 or 1 longblock (rated up to 600 hp) at a minimum.

But what I want to know is:
1) Can I restrict the hp gains based off the parts i add to the car(i.e. fuel injectors) or in this case, the parts I don't add to the car and still operate my vehicle safely? This would prevent me from having to buy a new engine block right away until I feel the need or get bored with the TT (unlikely) and want to add more hp.
or
2) Can I tune my vehicle with a stage 2 TT kit so that the hp is limited, saving my engine from breaking down before i can replace it with as higher rated block.

I know it may sounds stupid but the parts to safely manage TT horses can be pricey so thats why i want to limit the gains until I upgrade the clutch, injectors, etc. This way my car has plenty of room for hp/tq increases. All in all I'm trying to save myself from having to buy a certain stage TT kit now and have to buy another later(not sure how each kit differs and if I just need to change things out for better power output) or if its just better to just swap the engine first and install the TT as the money flows. I have around 20k to spend as of right now on my car but I want to make the most cost effective decision and still have room for improvement. Thanks

Built the Engine first then proceed on with your project. Take your time and do it right. Also you can purchase a used TT kit for reputable sellers on this forum or The370z.com.

So I basically need to know my end-state hp goal so I can get the properly rated block to handle the power. Got it thanks

Not sure how much power you really need, but the vhr block can handle a little over 500whp reliably without building it up. Just FYI.

the stage 2 kit will max out with the fuel system it comes with before you break 550. (ask me how i know lol) I ran a stage 2 kit on my car for 2 years w/0 issues. I actually was told it was a stage one when I bought it used, and "upgraded" to a brand new stage 2. When comparing new vs old I saw I already had a stage 2.

I ran 486 for the first kit, but upgraded to a 3" full exhaust when I swapped to the second kit and put down 533hp/436tq. I ran a stage 3.5 southbend clutch w/lightweight flywheel. I DDed this car and drove it from FL to Tennessee twice. The block is safe for 500-550 with a proper tune.

Now with that being said, i am parting my car out and have my TT kit listed in the classifieds. The stage 1 kit will save you a few bucks, but limit you in the future if you decide to go for more power.

As for limits, you can use smaller wastegate springs to keep power down and a boost controller to have fun when wanted. My wastegate springs are 7 psi and gave me no issues, however you can go smaller. I just have a light foot and never had the need to limit myself.

Getting a new kit form GTM may prove to be hard as they are over a year behind and 100 kits paid for w/no delivery, so used kits whether it be mine or anyone elses may be your best bet. Just be sure they include all the key pieces since they will be hard to source. I have had some luck getting replacement pieces through same recently, but I've heard horror stories as well. I may just be lucky.

I'd seriously suggest you not give any of your money to GTM. You'd be better off just sending it to me. I'd at least answer your PM, phone calls, or emails. But I wouldn't actually deliver any parts to you. Neither will GTM.

Black Betty, I hate to say it as I know they probably just have good caller id, but I've talked to Sam 4 times this week and he even sent me a replacement intercooler pipe that he still hasn't invoiced me for. I do agree that I would be highly skeptical of purchasing anything right now, but I also can't deny that what they do make is quality.

Well he's been not answering or returning my calls (or my $6K that I paid a year ago) for months. There's a reason why GTM has stopped sponsoring a bunch of forums (banned from several) and no longer responds to most customers. As far as I'm concerned, GTM can eat a large bag of syphilitc *****. They bit off more than they can chew. 1 year was my patience limit in waiting for parts that were supposed to be ready to ship in 4 to 6 weeks when I paid for them. Decent human beings would at least communicate, apologize, and refund money rather than forcing buyers who paid them in good faith for parts to jump through hoops and file complaints with credit card companies to get their money back.

I am in no way defending them, and I completely understand the frustration and anger from the group buy participants. If you get your money back I will gladly take it and send you parts right away I have bought up 4 kits in the past year and resold them, and am working a deal on a 370Z kit for my new car. Surprisingly out of all the GTM kits I have owned, none of them were purchased by me through GTM.

I actually saw your classified for your TT. I actually just came back from Navarre so if I were to go through you that would be an easy pick up. I'm in a traveling bind as of right now so I'm limiting in time as of right now and I know your TT should sell fairly quickly. Granted if it's available when I'm free I'll take the kit off your hands

Letting them hang onto it isn't quite the problem. If you read up on the group buy (which I've only got the cliff notes) they are behind by over a year on delivery from the MHI group buy which had over 100 original buyers. Most are having issues getting their money back and IF they have gotten their money back it has not been easy.

Ah, a local, my favorite kind of buyer lol. Far and few between around here, but let me know! I would love to sell locally since it's a pain to find boxes big enough for the piping and intercooler.

Sam Has been good to me to say the least, I was the 1st person to owned the Twin SC and when I need parts Sam is there for me. I will say this different strokes for different folks. Customer Service is shabby but Sam is still a person you can conduct business with.

GTM as of recently has had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I warn against them unless you want indefinite timeframes for everything.

Fast Intentions is finishing up on a kit for the G and I have heard good things about the business.
