6MT No Reverse ???

08 G37 S just shifts fine in all 6 forward gears went to put it in reverse today and it went back a little then popped right out of gear won't even stay if I hold it in ??? Any ideas on what actually blew ? Regardless I'm pulling tranny tomorrow but any advice on cause would be greatly appreciated.

There's a plate on the shifter that restricts you from shifting into reverse accidentally. It requires you to press downward (bottom of the car, not backward) on the shifter before pressing over ad back to select reverse. If it is not in the correct position, it might affect your ability to shift into or stay in reverse. It definitely doesn't require dropping the transmission, just take out the center console and you access it.

Have you done anything unusual with the transmission recently? Seems kind of random for reverse to suddenly pop out of gear.

Was shifting hard into reverse for a bit ( clutch master) did that last week but it's not a complete waste I need to change the noisy throwout bearing while I'm at it too this car is starting to remind me of my 05 SE R piece of crap which I still own but don't want to drive anymore

The car is 6 years old. Has it been flogged all those years? Have you maintained this car?

Things start wearing out and breaking after 100K lol

I just bought this car a month ago the clutch had been done recently who ever did it was obviously a hack I've found several clips broken and bolts missing already not including the clutch dust plate completely missing as well I bought the car with 89000 kms and I only paid 16 for it so I'm not too cheesed about having to put a bit into it . Not drivin in winter either and it came with brand new rubber so over all I'm doing all the labour myself if I have to throw a few bucks at it no biggie the previous owner seemed to not know too much (mechanical) overall love the car but if this keeps up I'll be selling it before 100000kms
