Question JWT Clutch install....situation

First and foremost - thanks for reading.

I just had a JWT clutch installed with my resurfaced stock flywheel. I am aware of the controversy around resurfacing the stock flywheel. My mechanic, whom I have been going to for over 10 years pushed me in that direction and expressed that he's resurfaced dual-mass flywheels a number of times before. Oh - I think its also pertinent that I mention that the throw-out bearing (aka CSC) wasn't replaced.

So, the first day I went to get her, after a couple of tries she didn't start. Basically, the guy who put the flywheel on didn't align it properly. So they effectively had to do the job again. My mechanic apologized and assured me she'd be ready the following day - which she was. The car is running and of course I'm adapting because the engagement point is lower and the clutch needs to be broken in.

The problem:

I noticed that when I'm idling - I feel vibrations in my seat. Even looked over and saw my bag in the passenger seat trembling a bit. Never noticed this before the clutch install.

The questions:

1. Is there something wrong with the trans mount, the throw-out bearing, and/or resurfaced flywheel?
2. Is this just the result of the setup? Although different, nothing is actually wrong and I'll just have to live through this until I do another clutch install (hopefully w/ a TT kit ).

It's really hard to say what the issue is. It could be something as simple as the mount being loose. It could be something more, it's impossible to tell without looking at your car. Looks like you'll need a third trip to your trusted mechanic. I would guess if it were and issue with the resurfaced flywheel you'd have clutch engagement or disengagement issues, not a vibration. That is a hunch, not a fact.

Also the throwout bearing and CSC are two separate parts and both should always be replaced while doing clutch jobs or really almost any time the transmission is dropped. It's cheap. It doesn't require hardly any extra labor expense. It's good insurance because the OEM CSC units on our cars are prone to failure even under normal use.

Tell your guy to stop cutting corners to save you a dime because it'll end up costing you a dollar.

So, after a couple of days of driving my issues are:

1. Vibrations while idling
2. Clutch pedal is super stiff and gets stiffer the closer it gets to the floor
3. The shifter went from feeling buttery smooth to acutely sharp. Feels like it shifts like Z now.

BB - appreciate the insight. We'll see what happens. He asked me to give it a week, not sure I'll last that long.
