i doubt that the previous owner got it serviced by someone else, yet alone get non nissan fluids installed if that was the case it would void the warranty of your tranny and you would be sht out of luck....

Here you go. It doesn't look like much on the video, however, when I was driving it was pretty harsh. The first shift in the video is from 2nd to 3rd and it was fine. As I accelerated in 3rd going up to 4th you can see a slight blip at 2500 rpm where the rpm's skip back to 2400 while still giving it throttle. Then after shifting into 4th the rpm's drop to about 2200 and then almost immediately dump down to about 2000 rpm's.

Exactly, and the 2nd drop was very noticeable while driving or riding in the car.

It almost looks like a partial lock up of the TCC that was done badly. If you haven't done so already, thoroughly clean your throttle bodies and clean your MAF. Then, reset your ECU with the pedal method.

Fixed my partial lock issues almost completely.

mine would occasionaly do that too. and between 1st and 2nd i would get a clunk now and then after slowing down for say a speed bump etc.

BUT... since i did the ground cables, non of this has happend since then ( 1 month) and shifts much smoother.

Update #2

Well, got the G back from the dealer and all I can say is holy $#!T. I cannot believe how much better the new transmission feels. It is like a completely new car to me. Infiniti ended up sending a brand new 2013 7AT for installation and it feels night and day better than my original transmission.

The service rep said that the solenoids in the original were completely shot and that the transmission fluid was littered with metal shavings. Needless to say, I am glad I stayed persistent with the dealer about the issues I was having.

Great to hear, nice to see the dealer handle this the way they did, even though it sounds like quite an ordeal. Now go out and enjoy your "new" G!

I'm definitely going to the dealership with this. My car is doing the same damn thing and I passed it off as the torque converter.

I'm going to clean up my MAF sensors and throttle bodies before I make it a big issue and see what that does.

Wow. Seeing as how my car shifts worse than yours did looks like I need to drop mine off at the dealer in a few weeks. I've never heard of such a massive failure on these 7AT's to be honest. Oh well since I'm well within the powertrain warranty I should go get that checked out.
