Ebay turbo kit opinions

So I have no idea about turbo's or superchargers....but I would like to spend a minimal amount of money if thats possible and have about 450-500 HP....take a look at this kit for me and tell me first if its any good, second will I have to make any changes or add anything besides what the kit comes with...in total I was hoping to get a kit installed tuned for around lolol...$2000...is that doable?

No. That's not possible with that budget. The first thing to do is to read everything you can about what turbocharging is and how it works. Once you've got the principle down, you'll be in a much better place to tell garbage from the real deal.

It's very expensive. Cheap is not an option to do it in a way that will make reliable power or big power. You'll spend several grand on parts. Another couple grand on install and tuning. And it's essential to have a couple grand more in your "oh ****!" fund. Were close to $10K now. On the low end.

And while there's a lot of great things on eBay, complete turbo systems for our car is not something you probably want to purchase there. You need to get educated on what's what so you know junk from a bargain. That's junk.

What's the worst thing that could happen? blow up your engine? destroy your car?

If a reliable $2k turbo kit existed we'd all be boosted.

I wouldn't go with an ebay brand. If you're really wanting to boost, just save up and gather that money. Kits like these are often made of cheap material. They can end up screwing up your engine causing you to spend well over what a good turbo would cost. Like Ryne said, if a good turbo existed for 2k, I think we would all be boosted.

I dont see a point in turbo charging it. Leave it alone or go buy a factory turbo charged car and upgrade it from there. Might be cheaper in the long run.

I don't think these cars ever came with a turbo from factory.

"A" factory turbocharged car, not necessarily a factory turbo G37

Right, like a Mazdaspeed, Focus ST or whatnot. I personally just think its a waste of money, but thats just me.

Instead, you can clear coat your grills like I did! Lol
