SES light question

does the service engine light come on for infiniti scheduled maintenance too, or is only a "check engine" light? my nav screen has some message that pops up every time i start my car reminding me to take it to the dealer, however i just put on HFCs a couple weeks ago.

i reset my ECU using the gas pedal method and it doesnt go away.

The amber "Service Engine Soon" warning light is only to indicate a malfunction, not to indicate that it is time for maintenance. Some cars have a "check engine" light, others have a "service engine soon" light, but they mean the same thing.

The maintenance reminders can be programmed for whatever distance you choose, and you can set the reminders on either the nav screen, the screen in the gauge cluster, or both if you so desired (that would be a bit redundant though). This just reminds you that it's time for an oil change, and does not indicate a problem.

I hope that makes sense.

It looks like you have a 2010. If you're out of warranty, you can go to most auto parts stores (advance, autozone, napa, etc) and they'll read the codes for your SES light for free so you know what's wrong. Otherwise, if you still have warranty or if you'd just prefer, I'd go to the dealership.

The SES you're seeing it due to the hfcs...
my hfc's drove me insane for the first month or two. it would go away, then i'd reset it, it wouldnt come back, come back again, and then i gave up.

time to get a tune~~
