Yeah, that's really steep for a tune that really hasn't been proven.

It's because it's only a single Master ecutek tuner in the is.
Visconti tuning, he's good but $950 for a tune.
No way, I wish uprev made a tune for the juke.
His tunes are good, not $950 worth but, that's my .02
Funny thing is he averages 25whp & 50lbft tq, just from upping boost & adding 3+ of timing. from 12-14 psi.

Edit I spent 1600 on exhaust for 10hp when I had the g, I guess it's not that bad at least some solid gains.

From: Framingham Ma,
Yea even tho I really dont think I can spend 950 on a tune and license and cable.
I think I'm going to give Alex @ motionlab a shot . I honestly wish I could get myself to spend the $$ with Viscotti cause he has been a huge help to me other the last week .

Viscotti is the only master ecutek in the entire us.
His knowledge is amazing, he works with so many platforms.
Personally I think he can tune anything.
Not taking away anything from Alex @ motionlab, I'm sure he's good.
John V, is a really nice guy.
He is helpful, I remover reading a thread where he traveled clear across the country to do tunes & help other shops.

That was for the juke, because at the time no one else had anything.
He was the 1st to crack the ecu, so per his opinion is he spent a lot of time to make the software. He's not a company like uprev.
He may not charge 950 for the g, I'd check him out.
Can't hurt to ask.

If it's any consolation, I paid 2x for tuning.
1st time $500+tax (cash or not)I kinda jumped the gun, just a k&n drop in & a tune.
Was happy the decided I wanted to up the power.
So added a full turbo back exhaust turbo xs brand/HFC/ extreme turbo system intake / uicp/licp / & a grimmspeed 3 port ebc solenoid.
Another $500+ tax although it took a long time to retune.
He did 10-15 pulls letting car cool down 15-20 mins at a time.
So I paid close to $1100.00 with tax.

I had the dreaded ses light & didn't just want it disabled or turned off like with uprev.
When I had the g.

He fabricated a custom j bend o2 spacer, originally he told me a $100.00

It took him a half hour, he wouldn't take anything (he knew I was tight on cash, who isn't)
But my ses light was not tune related yet he took care of it.

Sometimes you just bite down & say ok.
I am a firm believer, you get what you pay for.
He's not cheap, but I wanted a tuner with a lot of evos under his belt.
Sean Ivey @ Ivey Tune has 20+ years just with Dsm, motors.
Since 09 he's added gtrs to his resume.
He has a 9 second gtr, built very nice.
Super nice & always willing to help no matter how busy.
I was willing to pay to get one of the top evo tuners.
Viscotti is a tuner who is in very high demand, plus he's a pleasure to speak to.
He answered all my noob questions, about the juke.

That's how you can tell if they just want your cash, or take the time to show they care.
I've learned you want the best when it comes to tuning.

From: Framingham Ma,
Agree 1000% , I did the same thing with my EVO tune after tune . And drive the NJ to use Turbotrix!I dido the same with my speed3 , it's not that I didn't like my old UPREV tune ( would be going that way with Alex) . As much as I was anitional looking at ECUTEK for the tq gain of the cam timing if it was there . But because there is no " hard " data that it will make more than UPREV I can justify the +$300 for the ECUTECK . That's just me maybe . If that gains where there and seen I might but for a "maybe " I'm not taking the plung for a "maybe".

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the kind words.

I really want to go over why EcuTek is a good option over other products. If your on the fence then I wouldn't make any sudden movements! Think twice before going to something other than EcuTek. Right now I'm not a vendor so I'm limited to what I can say and offer.

Hopefully I can get my vendor account up and running soon

John

Hello sir, it would be a pleasure for us to have you as a vendor.
You have one of the best reps hands down, you are doing something right.
Since I have 2 vehicles, I know of one other person with a juke looking to tune.
Was going to do a stage 3 gtm oem turbo port / change turbine blade & cartridge.
Then a tune was a must, you were whom I trust with a new platform.
Was rated at 400 hp ( not sure if tune was that hp rating)
All I know is that's double the stock output ,
In the end want to keep it stock & my wife does most of the driving .
Very interested in just a tune, can you pm me some dyno pulls.?
& additional info.
Also your opinion of exhaust will help tremendously.

I have your website, if you can not answer here.
Please just let me know, I'll ask you directly.

John,

Hopefully EcuTek can start offering the flex fuel option very soon for the G37/G35HR so that the guys here at JMS in San Antonio can tune my car for E85 and 600+ whp. The boost control option is very appealing too. If it comes to our platform soon, I will be able to sell my brand new boost controller

If you want to give technical information or advice here you are most welcome to do so. There's no problem with that even if you're not a vendor. What you can't do is solicit business, offer or advertise your services or products for sale, or give your direct business contact information. You're welcome to post in the forum with info about a product, answer questions, send and answer PM, etc.

If you're crossing any lines I'll let you know. Thanks and welcome to the forum.

Thanks.

I've already sent a email in asking to become a vendor, hopefully I hear back from them soon.

Flex Fuel is something I've been pushing on EcuTek for years, 370Z will most defiantly have this, just not sure if it's going to be part of the second phase of RaceRom. Boost Control is also coming, not sure when. Development happens very quickly at EcuTek, the main RaceRom developer is in Nissan mode right now currently working on GTR in parallel with 370Z. Features are getting written as I type this post. Just got confirmation that 4-Way Map Switching that drives the Rev Counter is already working. Launch Control was written a few weeks ago, so things are going very well.

I wouldn't personally jump into a a upgraded turbo on the juke just yet, I would recommend the flash route first. The EcuTek flash is pretty cool because you can raise and lower the boost on-the-fly. But as we know from the GTR, the Nissan Boost Control system is awful and really only works well on stock sized turbos. EcuTek has plans on rewriting the boost control system for Juke but other things are taking priority *cough* 370Z *cough* After they do more Juke work I would totally recommend a upgraded turbo.

It's been said before, EcuTek makes great tuning tools but the tool is only as good as the person behind the key board. So keep that in mind!
