80W90 diff oil?
Is it okay to use regular non-synthetic 80W90 oil for the diff? Given that my G has a VLSD, I'm assuming no additives are required when using regular diff oil. The oil I'm looking at is Motorcraft Premium rear axle lube
https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubrican...nsaxle%20Fluid
which is a GL-5 rated oil so no issues there.
Reason I'm asking is because the dealer recommended Nissan Hypoid LSD diff oil is $95/litre. No one carries any kind of synthetic lubricant here (like Redline, Mobil1, etc) except other dealers such as BMW (They stock Valvoline I think) which is just as expensive if not more.
TLDR: Should I pay $95+/litre for Nissan diff oil or just go with regular Motorcraft oil?

Well since no one knows I took a leap of faith and bought a couple liters of the Motorcraft stuff. Will come back after the oil change and let you all know.

FWIW, I'm using Swepco in my 6MT diff and love it. Works better than any other gear oil under any condition, IMO. It's also used a lot by drifters and rock crawlers. This stuff keeps your gears coated even after it's been sitting for days, weeks, or months.

Went to Infiniti to get some differential fluid, they told me they don't have any. That most Infiniti owners don't do work on their own cars. Told me to try Nissan. So I get over there and he puts Penzoil on the counter and I asked why he didn't have a Nissan brand fluid. Informs me they just buy from Penzoil and use it here in the shop.
So is this Penzoil conventional (doesn't say intended for LSD but is suitable) what I want to put in my car? And this is what they would be putting in my car if I serviced it there anyway!?
Another friend recommended Valvoline durablend limited slip. What's your thoughts on that?
Or just what do you guys recommend??
Thanks
