The MD top plate has some sharp edges! Looks like it's starting to [barely] cut into the plastic on the intake manifold. Not that it matters...

from what I understand, the Motordyne m370 is just a intake manifold from the vq35hr engine. The VQ37 is the updated version of vq35, any idea why nissan changed to a lesser performance design? there has to be a reason that nissan didnt use the intake manifold right?

From the horse's mouth (a phone conversation about the subject with Tony): Yes, the M370 is a modified HR intake manifold. However it flows significantly better than the stock VHR intake manifold. As shown by flow testing and HP/TQ gains. So then why did Nissan change it? Who the hell knows. I don't but I wonder as well. Does it really matter if it works better?

took some time to go through my engine bay this afternoon and wanted to share some of the rubbing with the cusco bar installed. present on both top and bottom, so the fitment is pretty tight. i did just take out the center rubber washer on the engine cover which seemed to help, highly recommended. i apologize for the poorly lit pictures.

rubbing looks like bird turd

center washer removed

Yes, my current setup is the M370, K&N inakes, and Fast Intentions HFC's and CB exhaust. I installed this today and noticed the tone is louder and maybe a little deeper. Unsurprisingly, it hasn't done anything to add/decrease rasp/hiss, which I like anyways.

I'm curious if anyone is a little bit nervous about just sticking their MAP sensor from the old manifold into a rubber vac line. It doesn't look very secure at all, so I ziptied it in. That's not really secure, it's just there to keep it from bouncing around if it DOES fall out. Does anyone have a fix for this? I can post pics if that would help.

Here's a pic of mine installed, the blue collection of zipties in the upper left corner is my attempt at securing it.

I never had a problem with my MAP sensor coming loose, even under continuous abuse on the street/track. I had the same feeling about it when re-connecting the sensor but I guess it's more secure than it looks. Just drive and enjoy the manifold until you have a problem with it.

I thought it was pretty easy. It won't bother your inspection.
