I noticed this plug just hanging out there between the front radiator and the crash guard. Any idea what this is used for?

 

Looks like it could be the outside temperature sensor harness. The temperature sensor is usually secured to the metal bracket on the top of your picture.

 

wait, does that mean I lost the outside temperature sensor? Dash temperature seems to be accurate tho...

 

Upon closer exam, it's not the temperature sensor. You must've disconnected it while installing your intake. You cant remember what you disconnected?

 

Ohhh, i know what it is! Must be the washer fluid pump. You disconnected it while installing the intake. Forgot to plug it into the new washer.

 

It was actually disconnected ages ago when i first had my intake installed and i wasnt the one who installed it.

As for the washer fluid pump, mine still work with this plug in tho.

 

Could it be the plug for the speed sensor ? Optional on some g37s?

 

Does the car have tech package? What year is it?

 

2010. I dont have the adaptive cruise control package.

 

Check on the back of your crash bar. The temperature sensor is attached to the back of the crash bar on the passenger side. I'm still suspicious that this is the temp sensor.

 

Let me guess, you don't have fog lights? There is your answer.

 

ICC wiring, not needed as you dont have the tech package.

 

Hey man that looks like it could be a fan controller harness or even maybe an intake sensor harness for the maf. If not that check your cam sensors. If not that check all your headlights and even the horn connector.

 

Seven years later I doubt it is relevant anymore...
