Adding mufflers (axle-back) drone?

Hey guys was thinking of adding mufflers to the 2010 G37 sedan for some sound but Im afraid of drone.

I want to replace just the mufflers and will keep stock cats and resonators.

I've looked at Megan oval mufflers, dynamic vt mufflers and the very attractivly priced magnaflow mufflers.

Will any of the mufflers drone if I just replace the mufflers and keep the stock resonators? Especially the magnaflow?

Thanks

I'd just go with removing the muffler and replacing it with straight pipes, like I did on my 2012 g37s coupe. It sounds absoloutely amazing. No drone

Do you have any videos? The ones I've seen on YouTube sounded like total crap.

The front end of the exhaust is so restrictive that I doubt you will get any drone regardless of the mufflers you go with.

Have the Tanabe axle-back and love it. No drone.

It's all about what you're looking for. The mufflers that don't drone, typically don't add much volume. I used to have a 2008 g35x sedan, and I installed two sets of mufflers, both with different sounds. I decided to go with Sebing mufflers, which are the same brand mufflers used on the Fast Intentions Exhausts. The first set of were oval, they sounded decent on the outside of the car, but couldn't really tell the difference from stock inside the cabin, however there was no drone.
The second set, also from Sebring were round mufflers, which sounded much better to me. Once you depress the pedal, you could hear the car come alive. I added resonated muffler tips, and exhaust sound was worth having a bit of drone.
I also owned a 2011 FX35, and had tanabe g37 mufflers fitted to my car. These were my favorite, but also the loudest. It produced the beloved VQ exhaust note, but there was definitely more drone than my two Sebring's. Not having resonated tips probably contributed to that a bit.
I can post pics of both sets of sebring mufflers if you like....BTW also for sale ha ha!

You make a good point.... I looked up some more videos and it does sound good and quiet on the outside but I can imagine it would be too quiet and not worth the money on the inside (especially being a 7AT).

I think I'll go with some canister mufflers. With the stock resonators in place it shouldn't be too loud like some videos I've heard of canister catbacks but loud enough to be enjoyed inside.

Hello,
What all these fine gentleman are saying are 100% correct. If your just looking for sound, especialyl on just an axleback, the quality of the muffler makes all the difference. The tanabe axleback is an awesome product and I can guarantee you will never look back at that decision.

We have some in stock if you are interested but otherwise good luck with everything!
