My G Not going anywhere?

I was driving fine, stopped at a light and I started playing with the music, light goes green I hit the gas and I go nowhere. all the lights on the dash were on but I cant figure out what the hell was going on. I let it roll by itself, turn it off then turn it back on. It was fine but my service engine soon is on. Has anyone had this happen?

Some emissions component failed. It's happened to most of us that have had a failure of some sort. If the car is under warranty, bring it to the dealer. If not, bring it to autozone to scan.

Sounds like what some people call "limp mode." I think its common issue among G's. Happened to me about 10k miles ago, SES light when on immediately. Never happened since then and the dash light went off about a week later on it's own.

Just so you know limp mode & car dying are 2 different things.
Limp mode is when you beat on the car in high temps, it slows the car down to avoid damage to engine.
Emission problem is a whole different problem.
Ses light does not make car die out.

I usually dont beat on my car, but my guess is it might just be an emission sensor that acted up. It was about 15 degrees outside living in Chicago sucks and I was at a light hitting the pedal with no acceleration just normal idle. The car has been normal since it happened just the SES light is still on the dash. I havent had time to stop by an autozone to see whats going on. It only has 32k miles on it with a recent oil change on sunday.

Don't know about the SES...I was driving my dad's altima one day and it was really cold. I start the car, put it in reverse, than when I put in Drive and try to accelerate, the car acted like it was on neutral and just revved and didnt move an inch. It happened because of the temperature.

Did the CEL light flash at all? Or just come on and stay constant?

It was just traccontrol, ses, and CEL constant. Turned off the car, all those went away and the only one that stayed was ses. I took her out lastnight and I was pissed that the light was still on so I just punched it and was sliding her around. The light went off right away? Im still a bit wierd about the situation but I hope it wont happen again
