Won't go into 3rd in DS mode?
Just got my 2011 G37xS and decided to take her for a spin... Put it in DS mode and floored it making a right turn onto the highway from a stop. (I was really impressed at how a split second after my back end came loose the AWD kicked in and snapped me back straight.) Anyways it shifted from first to second just fine but somewhere around 5000 RPM in second I took my foot off the gas expecting it to immediately upshift, but instead it just hung in second gear revving high. I immediately put it back in drive so it would switch gears. Just wondering if this is normal or not?
Ds, is mapped for high rpms.
It's made for aggressive driving when you want the car in the power band, sweet spot.
100% normal, it will hold high rpms to keep the car balanced.
Learn how to use the ds, it's easier to learn when slowing down from say 60mph.
You could shift it manually, but the ds is very aggressive shift points.
