Learning ECU + Highway Driving?
Learning ECU + Highway Driving?
Hey everyone,
So my story goes as many do. Brought my car in for service, loaner felt way faster, blah blah blah... but it got me thinking.
I have an '09 37xs sedan, loaner was an '11 rwd sedan. When I say the difference was stark, it was more than that. I know that my rim/tire combo definitely doesn't help, nor does the AWD. The service guy mentioned the learning ECU thing, which I at first wrote off because I tend to drive the car pretty hard. However, I started thinking. A large percentage of my driving is highway cruising, and I wonder if my ECU is taking that as light driving and tuning it down? Just wondering if anyone has any experience or thoughts on that.
Thanks,
Chris

I'm not sure on that, I have a 08 G37S and most of my driving is also done on the highway. Last time I had a loaner, they gave me a '12 G37X - it was probably because it was an automatic and awd but it felt like a slug in comparison.
