Hey guys,

So I've been having this problem for awhile now. Whenever I turn off the engine after a drive, I hear this ticking sound coming from under the hood. I brought it into the dealership once and they told me it was just normal.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like it might be the heat shields on the cats.

Mine ticks too. It's normal.

 

Yes, that IS normal.

Mattster described it. When the exhaust covering tins start cooling down, they cool much quicker than the exhaust and subsequently twitch in their mounting points. When they stabilize, it stops.
