Padlle Shifters on my 2010 Base G37 Sedan
Padlle Shifters on my 2010 Base G37 Sedan
I just installed paddle shifters on my base 2010 g37 sedan! Worth every penny! Makes the car a hella lot more fun to drive!
But upshifts seem to be just as delayed as they were using the standard stick shift. Does ITB12-027 address this issue? And also I want to paint my stock 17s gunmetal and was wondering if anyone has done it before? Any pics?

how was the install?
I do my own car audio installs for my self and friends and feel confident I can do this.
Do you have to move the shiftier over to DS to enable the paddle shiftier or do you tap on the shifter and the car knows what to do?

Don't remove your steering wheel and airbag and make the installation over complicated, use the DIY from this website: Infiniti G37 Paddle Shifter Installation
Don't have to move to DS to use the paddles, you can use them while you are in D. If you are in D and use the paddles, it will switch to manual. Once you stop using the paddles for 5 secs, it will switch back to D mode. In DS, if you use the paddles, it will stay in Manual mode.
Hope that helped. Let me know if you need anymore info about the installation.
Before I ordered the kit, I checked to make sure i had the connectors for the paddles, you should do that also, so you don't go through the hassle of buying the paddles and returning them. As for the installation, took me about 30-35 mins. Very easy and straight forward installation. Since you do audio installations, this should be a piece of cake.

On the bottom, where the center trim piece is - does it stay securely attached to the side trim pieces?
I just installed mine 2 weeks ago and my trim pieces are loose on the bottom - like the snap pieces keep coming undone.
I either have to use tape to hold it together or push the steering wheel all the way in and it is secure.
Has anyone else seen this problem?
As far as delays - I wonder if the grouding kit would help? I've read that it is supposed to help with the delays..

It's the same shift - the same signal sent from the stick, just sent from the paddle, instead. It seems the same because... it is.
