Heel & Toe Technique

For those that can do that on this car, can you take some pics of how you're positioning your foot on the brake/throttle?

I'm trying to learn the technique, but can't seem to figure out how to position my size 11 (normal width) foot to be able to perform this.

I've seen several variants of this; one where the blip is done with the actual heel, and other with the right edge of the right foot. Seems my foot is too big to do it with the heel, and pedals too far apart to blip with the right edge.

There are some vids of a guy giving people rides in his race car (Z) over on 350z that show his foot work really well. If I can find them later I will send you a link, but if you search it should pop up.

Show me a video of a 370z or g37, not some other car.

I can take a picture later, but I do the blip with the right side of my foot. I'm a size 11-13 (depending on the shoe) and it's perfect spacing. Just brake with the ball of your foot right next to your big toe.

Im a size 11 too. Just practice rolling your foot from the break to the throttle. Break with mainly the left side of your foot and roll to the throttle when you downshift.

@Skyline6mt, are you rotating the foot with just the ankle or keeping ankle locked and using the whole leg to rotate?

Dang I searched and searched but I couldn't locate the video. It was either on My350z or the370z. Pretty sure it was done in a 370z though. I even searched youtube. Oh well if I find it I will send you a link.

rotate with the ankle just keep the left side of your foot on the break then push the right side down to blip the throttle. You can even leave your heel pretty much on the floor. Basically less of a or motion with your foot more of a lmaoo!

^^LOL... thanks for that animated graphic. I haven't driven anywhere in a few days but will start practicing. I'm sure it's one of those things one picks up after enough repetition.

Car is not ideally spaced for heel-toe, but it works fine with practice. The pedals are spaced such that you don't use the whole foot, but as described above just roll from the brake to the gas, all using the ball of your foot. What I found is a bit easier for me is if I actually 'turn in' my foot, so the left side of the ball of my foot is on the brake, the right side on the gas, but the whole foot is turned towards the brake, and the heel is down.
