Tuning the TQ tables if you have an uprev tuner license is simple too, just increase or decrease expected torque figures on the map, and test drive, its very much trial, error, and preference to where you like the line pressure at during a shift.

For anyone that is considering the transgo kit, it is only for drag racing, for anyone that road races or tracks there car on a course, in an aggressive hairpin turn if you're shifting gears at wot you are losing control of the car.

So for those that are the fence about it, the kit isn't for everyone, it all depends on how you are using your car; and since you're drilling the center plate, its irreversible as well.

I Concur! I'd this MOD on my previous FI inducted G, and any where that charges you 4 hours of labor are inept and are rip-off artist.

I had the shift kit installed on a '95 Z28 after I broke a tranny piston racing a nitrous ricer. Best Mod ever. With a 2.83 rear end it would downshift to second and burn out accelerating from 45 mph @ WOT. Had to re-learn the car :-) Great for tranny health also, I could really see and smell the difference at fluid change time.

Reviving an old thread. How do you feel about it 9 months later?

So I realize this is an ancient thread but I ordered the Transgo kit the OP used and was wondering if anyone else has it installed? If so, any tips before I begin installation? I also ordered 2 identical 28 row oil/trans coolers and am going to install them side by side, directly behind the front grill where most CAI filters are. I'll obviously be doing a drain and fill at the same time, so I need to grab some Matic-S fluids unless anyone recommends something else? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated! Thanks
