My G Coupe Sounds Different When Starting Up..

Past couple of times my G coupe hasn't been as loud on the start up (exhaust noise). Here in NY the weather has got a lot colder in the last couple of days (this morning the car was reading 15 degrees). I mean at like 35-30 degrees It starts up sounding the same. So could this be due to the REALLY cold weather?

I know my coupe sounded different when starting up in ND, but that was like -10 - 10 degrees. Cold probably has a lot to do with it.

Its definitely the cold. If you start your car, and immediately take off while the engine is still cold... and you floor it (Dont Redline, just 4K RPMs), you will notice the car sounds much meaner and much more different. Once the engine reaches operating temperature, it will go back to sounding "normal" .

that's odd. It should be louder when its cold than when it's warm...

Yeah thats what I thought too. That is what usually happens with cars when starting up when really cold out. The exhaust doesn't give out that big rev when first start up and the idle sound of the exhaust is a bit more quiet. If I can recall, the RPMS at idle were still the same I think...
