Problem with DS mode when stopping

It happens to me a few time, and i like to know if it happens to some of you.

When i m in DS , i brake to slow down to a full stop. When the car is almost stopped , it does a rev matching, and the car jump for 2 or 3 feet. It could scare some people crossing the road and me if i m to close to someone or another car.

if it's the 7AT, do the reflash https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...reprogram.html

Neither of my 7ATs do that so it could be in need of a reflash

Mine has jumped forward a bit on most low gear downshifts. The rev matching tends to over rev, causing a power forward when the new gear hits. I'd love to tune mine down some.

I've had all the ITB's applied. No effect on that.

Next time you do it, check to see if it actually pushes the car forward or is it the sudden lack of engine breaking mid-shift that gives the impression of it lunging forward. I used to feel the same way until I experimented while coasting to a stop.

ALLLL THE TIME... I have the latest flash.

I think it's the release of the torque converter happening too late, causing a lunge.

I usually only use DS when on the highway or somewhere/when I won't be coming to a complete stop anytime soon. Isn't that what it's for? Maybe that will fix your problem

DS is for when you want to keep the rev in the power band but you don't want to change gears yourself. It's extremely fun in corners. I usually just put it into manual to avoid this problem but sometimes it still happens when it automatically downshifts from 2 to 1 at lower speed.

DS isn't really meant for stopping, in the first place. It's intention is for when you wanna gun it and drive fast, thus, the gear changes are more harsh. You'll always get it when stopping.

Thank you all. In fact i love using it in cities, it's faster when you need to take off or re accelerate. The gears changing less often, i don't need to brake hard or often.

It's the same thing but worse, when you are at a stop, and you have the foot on the brake but just enough pressure to not going forward. And suddenly the AC kicks in and you need to brake harder to avoid to going forward.

It could be the torque converter as someone said, or the rev matching arrives too late.
