Did Infiniti fix the transmission lag for 2012 model

I'm on the verge of buying a 2012 sedan and have a concern about the transmission lag problem that I see mentioned.

Does anyone know if Infiniti has fixed the problem for the 2012 model?

Thanks for your help.

Eh, I have a 2009 which was the first year with the 7 speed and never had any problem. Go and test drive one and see what you think. It's one of those things that if you're expecting there to be a problem then you'll probably find one.

According to Infiniti, there is no problem

You can check to see if the dealer has a 30 day return policy. Some car manufacturers have such a policy, not sure on Infiniti.

Also, you most likely won't experience the transmission issue in a 15 minute test drive.
That probably doest help much but just setting your expectations.

Good luck whatever you decide mate.

In my professional opinion they have. I have driven them back to back and have owned each. All my customers who have driven them back to back have said the same thing. Also 2 of my other co workers also traded their 2010's in for 2012 because of the drive

Why do people complain about lag in an automatic car? If you don't want lag just get a manual. I honestly think this is one of the most aggressive automatic transmission on the market.

You should go test drive one and see for yourself. Last week i was on a 2011 loaners sedan, and i didn't feel any lag at all.

7 speed just has a quirky habbit of jerky feeling in stop & go at low speed.
If I were gonna test drive it, find some moderate traffic & see.
I notice a problem between 2nd & 3rd, in stop & go.
Only time I felt any delays almost like motor & trans are arguing what gear.

I have a 2010 and have not experienced any lag problem in the 21 months and 17,000 miles I've owned it.

I only feel a hesitation if I try to accelerate quickly right after letting off the gas. It is frustrating and potentially dangerous if you're trying to accelerate quickly to get out of trouble and cannot. It only happens during aggresive driving really, so maybe it's Infiniti's way of saying slow down.

I only have 1100 miles on my 12 and have no issues with the trans. I get caught in a lot of stop and go traffic on Rt 88 heading into and out of Chicago daily. I do drive aggressive, hence my 17mpg avg. I do however switch back and forth between D and DS mode depending on my driving mood.

Check out cnet tv's review on 2012 g37x 7at and fx35, they love the 7at tranny. Time to get a TSB done.

I'm hoping they'll offer a fresh TSB that would get it current w/ the 2012s, I had mine reflashed in June and it's better but seems like just one more upgrade in the smoothness would get it just about right
