There are plenty of BMWs that have gone over 100,000 miles on a stock clutch as well lol

The same cannot be said for BMW's cooling systems. Everything near and including the radiator on those things is just terrible.

I have an 08, on the second transmission at 22k. The new one is nowhere near what I would call smooth. IMO.

My new one is notchy and feels a lot stiffer than my old one. I got my new one at 46k. Got a new clutch and all the related parts at 42k.

Sorry for thread revival, it only proves I was using the search feature.

What was wrong with your transmission? I'm getting annoyed by how lazy my 1-2 shift is. I don't think it's normal so I'm asking if this is normal with 5AT's.

My 5AT is kinda lethargic shifting from 1-2 also. I believe there is a shift kit available for the 5AT. Is this correct?

IMO this car should bark the tires on a high RPM 1-2 shift no problem, but it doesn't. I was looking at GTM's 5AT upgrades and I think before I ever do any power mods I think a transmission mod is more important, probably a valve body upgrade.
