G37X 7at Issue, no its not flare....

I’ve done a lot of searching for this issue and have yet to find anything then the flare issue downshifting everyone is talking about. Granted it still may be out there but i have looked for it with multiple searches and keywords…
I’ve always driven a 5 speed and i know this 7at in manual mode is nothing like that but i would have hoped shifting would be a little better. Here is exactly what’s happening....
(2010 G37x AWD 7at Manual mode Upshifting)
1) Driving along in manual mode let’s say 2ed gear...
2) I get on it to pass grandma chugging along and i get up to 6500-Redline
3) I hit the lever to shift it……
4) I wait.....
5) And wait..... all the mean time i sound like a douche bag stuck at 6500k rpms....
6) Then it finally goes to 3rd gear and i continue on
There is considerable lag (2seconds or so), even with grounding wires, between telling it to shift and shifting.
Has anyone else noticed this problem or found any information regarding this?

From: Framingham Ma,
Do you drive in manualy a lot, I know that if you drive it all the time, there tranny adapts and there is no difference from man- auto mods. I NEVER drive in SPORT unless I know i'm gonna rip on it. I have zero shifting issue with mine.

interesting, you would think that sport mode manual shifting would just do exactly that, shift like a sporty manual, not an indecisive person at a drive through window...

i tend to drive exactly how you described, if i want to get on it i will shift but im in D around town DS on the highway,

from what ive experienced and read on the forums, this is how every g37 7at responds in manual mode. if you want it to shift at 6500 hit the stick up at 5800 or so and that should time it perfect. i know it sucks but once your used it you get the hang of it.

wasnt able to get the video, it was rainy and ****ty and i didnt want to put myself into a ditch... but if what CVROOM is saying is true, then i dont feel as bad about it, still kinda angery it doesnt shift faster but as long as it isnt just me i dont mind as much.

I had been trying what you said lately and thats about the only way i can get it going right so i guess ill suck it up and deal thanks guys! youve been much more responsive and knowledgeable then the people in my wheel thread.... lol is it so much to ask what the stock offset is? and what offset/witch can help me get closer to flush.....

No worries man. As for the wheel question, i believe the stock 18's for the coupe are 18 x 8 +43. i think if you were going to stick with the stocks you'd prob need 20mm spacers to get them more flush with the fenders.

I would say wait a while and take into the dealer. I remember when I drove my car off the lot and for the first month or two the shifting on the car was very rough and problematic in timing. However, it progressively got better with time and now the shifts are just right. The break in period is a very real thing.

im past 1000 mile break in, even though i bought the car two weeks ago with 44 on the clock. I'll simmer down with my driving soon and then ill only put on 7 miles a day going to and from work (thats 7 total 14 if i go home for lunch), but ill see if its still doing it in a month or two when i take it in for an oil change
