Your opinions between SC and TT..
Your opinions between SC and TT..
I am looking into forced induction, and I am also looking to learn some things..
Which do you prefer? Supercharge or Turbo? Which brand in perticular?
From what I have gathered, I am leaning more twords a turbo.. It might cost a little more but it doesn't fix and run off the engine like the SC does.. It's seems to be more stable..
If I am wrong pleeeease let me know.. I am mearly learning right now..
Thanks guys

For either SC or turbo your best choice of vendor is GTM. They have proven time and again that they are #1 in technology and customer service.
As far as the difference between the two...
- If you like an OEM type experience, power that is delivered smooth and linear then a supercharger is the way to go.
- if your the type that likes that slam in the backside surge of power with all kinds of "pisffft" sounds every time you let off the gas then turbos will make you smile.
From a performance stand point it's hard to beat turbos for their efficiency, BUT... the simplicity of the supercharger system while it may not deliver as much power requires less maintenance and is easier to live with.

VVEL technology?
also...
how much HP can the stock motor handle without having to upgrade internals / tranny.. ie.. forged crank, ect.
i vouch for GTM also! for the price and support that GTM gives, you don't need to look else where. they got it all!
450whp/375tq would be ideal for the TT system and it would be safe but as with any forced induction application you must be prepared for the worse case scenario. it usually depends on who installed and tuned your car is the one main key for a long lasting engine life. what kit also.

is there another way to get to 400WHP, that's all i would really need/want, i mean after intake, exhaust and a tune it would take it to maybe 350-360 right? what else can be done.

are u saying u think you will have 350 whp with basic boltons? 330 HP doesnt equate to 330 whp..... there are other factors that play into the whp equation like body weight for one.
it pushes 330HP stock, would trying to reach 400HP without forced induction be out of reach?
i worry about anyone cracking the VVEL technology as well.... the worst is to run too lean on one incident and the car goes into limp mode and boom...there goes the motor...
if, you are on a budget like me, then i would recommend SC, according to most people i have talked to, TT puts more stress on the engine and has a bigger possibility of things to go wrong. SC just tends to be a bit more reliable.
Plus the other factor that matters is if your car is manual or auto

i dont think anyone is going to be able to crack the VVEL anytime soon..and if they did i wouldnt bet you going to get as big as gain as you think your going to get
Body weight will effect things like acceleration, braking, and gas mileage, but not whp. A good rule of thumb where weight is concerned, subtracting 10 pounds is EQUIVALENT to 1hp. So subtracting 100 pounds is roughly 10hp etc. If YOU lost 50 pounds your car would have the equivalent of 5 extra hp
(this is the mod I'm currently working on ha!)You won't get anywhere close to 400hp, wheel or otherwise with bolt-ons.
Nitrous, supercharger, or turbo.
Supercharger is probably the least likely to go boom and cost less than a turbo, though GTM's turbo is damn good. Who installs and tunes it will be a big factor. Getting your car to GTM's shop is your best bet. A lot of booms are caused by tuners or installers screwing up. Not really a good idea to go with the bargain basement shop on this, you'll spend more in the long run.
