Sports-matic Automatic Transmission
Sports-matic Automatic Transmission
So, ignoring the times that you just drop a gear because you want to pass someone. How many of you actually use the 'sportsmatic' transmission to manually shift?

Coming from a MT car, I use the manual part quite a bit. Comes in handy during stop and go instead of gas-brake-gas-brake.
I always use the Manual mode with the paddles unless I am on a long highway drive with little or no traffic. I like to be able to scoot around with both hands on the wheel and once I got used to it I stopped reaching for the shifter and stomping my foot on the floorboard expecting a clutch to be there. It would be nice if there was a dual clutch GT-R type of tranny offered though.
Look for a DIY around the forum, its been done.
EDIT: NM, someone already posted the DIY lol

i rarely use it. I came from driving a 6sp manual right before this car, the paddle shifters can be somewhat fun i guess but it's no where even close to being as fun as a true manual transmission, so to me clicking on the paddles is nearly pointless
