2010 G37x lag in acceleration on heavy throttle
Hi all:
Just like to say this is my first post on here. I picked up a new 2010 Infiniti G37x coupe with premium/navi package. I absolutely love the car and can see why everyone on here gets so excited about. Lots of fun and an absolute head turning car. Makes me laugh in the 3 weeks I've had the car the number of people who drive by with their necks twisted to gock at it
Anyway, back to business. I have the 7AT transmission. To me it seems there is a brief delay when I hammer the throttle and the car begins to accelerate. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal to me, but if I'm passing someone on the highway, I'd like the acceleration to respond right away.
I have 430 miles on the car, and wondering if this is something anyone has heard of before. Do you think it's because I'm in the break-in period of the car? If so how many miles before it's considered broken in?
I've read on another forum about a transmission programming flash that could be done to improve the response. Or some other computer update. Any help is greatly appreciated and I look forward to more posts on these forums!
Cheers

Same here, its just the way the throttle is made, its an electrical signal or something, i dont know the whole story. BUT my advice to you is to get a Black Betty grounding kit, it really helped with my throttle response, super easy to put in too
I have an 09 g37x coupe, and have the exact same problem. No idea why the car does this, but as Steveo said the grounding kit is supposed to help the response time. It's stupid to have to buy an aftermarket part to make your car actually work the way it should, but that seems to be the only solution to the trans stalling like that.
If you REALLY have deep pockets, get a blitz throttle controller or hypertech tuner. But i think a grounding kit it MUCH better for only 120 bucks, it also helps with smoothing shifting, idle and it looks super cool.
wow that's pretty lousy that it seems to be a known issue. I'm forced to use the sport mode manual shifting a lot more because of this. Especially when cornering, like on an on or off ramp. Pretty lousy to take the corner and hit the gas and come up with nothing. Not very safe that way either. Hope that this is something Infiniti can correct. I agree that it's quite dubious to have to install an aftermarket part (which would probably void your warranty) to correct the issue.

Has nothing to do with 7AT, lag is same on 5AT and I own one before. That is how they are tuned, besides car begins accelerate from 1-2 gear, 7th gear has nothing to do with this.

Bull, read more about. X/7AT outperforms 0-60 any other cupes besides probably 11/IPL.
