Should I buy Paddle Shifters?

I have a bit of money to spend on the car, i was thinking of putting some paddle shifters on my car... is it worth it? or spend the money on a lip or something else? Taken I already have exhaust and test pipes,CAI, tints, rims, Sub and a bunch of other small things...

IMHO, I'd spend that extra money on other mods. I have the paddle shifters and I've only used it once. I actually prefer using the the shift **** to switch gears. I guess it could also be a person preference.

unless you're tracking it or doing a lot of high speed corners, its probably not worth it. i use my shifter 90% of the time on the street and the paddles only at high speeds when i dont want to take my hands off the wheel or when im cornering like on-ramps or on the track.

so 2 no's 1 yes, and I do agree the point of them is for cornering. Living on back roads the corners are the most fun part of the drive and i feel like i cant downshift at the apex of the corner because both hands are on the steering wheel. If its not this mod, what would you guys recommend?

I put them on about a month ago and love having them. It's nice to pop down a gear when in traffic.

Initially I hardly ever used them, but I recently made it a point to use them now when I'm in M. just need to get used to it.

Paddle shifters are very nice on the G. The are also better quality paddles than many other cars too. Don't listen to the naysayers just because THEY don't use them much. If you spend the money to upgrade yours with paddles; you'll probably use them often and thoroughly enjoy them, go for it!

You cant shift while cornering, as the paddles are NOT on the steering wheel.
They are on the steering column, and are not reachable while steering.

Maybe YOU can't shift while cornering if you leave your hands connected to the steering wheel at all times. The best and safest drivers rotate their steering wheel by moving, releasing and re-gripping the wheel, keeping their hands in the 10 o'clock 2 o'clock (or 9 & 3) positions most of the time, this allows you to easily reach those paddles.

This video shows the basic technique of proper steering.

I hope this helps.

True, but I disagree that they are not reachable. The shifters are large and are designed to be reachable even when approaching sharp turns.

I bought the kit from Riverside Infiniti, installed myself and think they are worth it. I live in New England, where there's plenty of curvy roads and enjoy being able to use the paddle shifters on those turns. Plus I think they look really sharp in the car. I think you should get them.

Incidentally, I have the cowling for the non-paddle equipped manually adjustable steering column. If can use it, let me know, I'll sell it cheap.

Race cars have smaller steering angles?
