Should I buy Paddle Shifters?
1. you should NOT be shifting while mid-corner. this can throw off the balance of the car and cause you to lose control. you should drop down to the correct gear PRIOR to enterting the corner.
2. there are TWO methods for hand placement when turning: you can either shuffle steer (shift your hands so they remain approx 9 and 3 while rotating the wheel) OR keep your handles on the wheel and rotate with the wheel which tends to stress your arms but can be done properly if you're close enough to the wheel and with an appropriate steering wheel.

Let's not get off topic, Paddle shifters are nice to have and looks good behind the steering wheels. I don't use them much because i'm me, but if you like how they look and think you'll be using it often then get it. Do what makes you happy OP.
I have them and they're very nice and handy in the twisties when you want both hands on the wheel; but I usually drive with my hand resting on the gear shift and I find it just *** easy doing the up and down there.
But, of course, YMMV.

Tvpostsound...I don't know how yours are mounted, but I'm able, in fact in the twisties, I do keep a finger on the up and down while my hands are on the wheel and one can shift at any point while steering.

I like them, and I'm sure I'll use them daily. I find the stick shifter annoying because it's the complete opposite of my previous car. I've contacted Riverside Infiniti regarding the paddle shifters and cost of shipping to Canada. However, their response is either slow or they don't even bother. Guess they don't want my money...
Useful or not? You are lucky to own a car that pre-wired for ppaddleshifter plus it's cheap and easy do DIY. It's bigger and one of the best looking padlleshifters. People ask me all the time when they ride with me

Do a search on here, there is a DIY to reverse the upshifts and downshifts on our cars by just switching the Pins in the shifter.
Just get them on eBay - search for "G37 paddle shifter". Riverside sells them there. $260.00 shipped with 3 day service. That's what I paid on 10/06/10, anyway.

Looks like they finally added shipping to Canada as an option. Wasn't there last time I checked. Thanks.
No, I just went and got something else. I'll probably end up getting the kit from riverside since I don't see anybody else selling them, was just irritated that they refused to answer any questions - bad customer service, I feel.
