Typically they rip on all cars.

You could replace it and hit a large pothole a week later and it rip. However, you may have some future problems with it drying up because the joints are suppose to be lubricated and that boot keeps it from drying out.

I wouldn't worry about it because you lowered it. Lowering springs have nothing to do with the boot ripping, its just merely driving and it happens. Take it to a mechanic first, see what he says, then take it to the dealer. If there is pressure points because of lowering the car that made the boot rip, then the mechanic should tell you so.

If not, this is probably not covered under warrenty.

Have you hit a large pothole recently?

It seems like lowered cars have the tendency to have ripped CV boots more often.

You must have hit something that caused it to tear. If you catch it early enough you can just replace the boot, but if it too late and you have a bunch of dirt in it, you're going to have to replace the axle. Get it done right away.

It's part of your suspension and it's the black stretchy cover that goes over your CV joint. Here's a pic of it:

I just found out today that my cv boot ripped too. There's a bit of grease splash around it. Is this gonna be an ongoing problem for lowered cars?

its just the way you drive and it can happen. think about how much pressuregoes onto the axles when you hit that huge pothole at a rate of speed, and the weight of the car.

thats why you see me swerving and dodging bumps when im driving.

i guarentee it has something to do with the springs because if u hit a bump its 10x harder if say u have coil overs that are ment for that kind of ride kenny.
