Thud when pushing in clutch pedal?

Okay so here is what I'm hearing/feeling

Driving in 1st gear -> Push clutch pedal -> THUD and SPRINGY NOISE -> Switch into 2nd gear

So basically this noise only happens immediately after pushing in the clutch pedal while ONLY in 1st gear, BUT it doesn't make the noise all the time. You can also slightly feel the thud. I know I'm not grinding my gears because I'm very thorough when I'm switching from gear to gear.

Anyone have an idea if this is normal with our car? If not, anyone have a clue to what the problem could be?

Completely normal. You'll learn to avoid it when you drive the car some more.

Try shifting after 3500 RPM in first gear. I'll bet you it won't happen anymore.

When you're going slow/@slow RPM, be slower on the clutch...feather it a bit more. You won't clunk it as bad.
