STILLEN G37 Supercharger Announcement!!!
We're still on track.. we'll have an official date soon.
Tuning is being taken care of via an ECU reflash, utilizing the UpRev software to manage the tuning. STILLEN engineers have done all of the tuning.
We are sending out the cables early to ensure we have all of the different ECU calibrations for customers who have pre-ordered.
The STILLEN version of the UpRev software utilizes a computer and a specialized cable to connect via the OBDII port and flash the STILLEN tune onto the ECU.
Not sure if I missed this or not. But how is the tuning being taken care of? I'll be installing one of these set ups on a 09 G37xs sedan when there released and the owner said he was going to be sent something to hook his car up to a lap top so the ecus stock maps(or something along the sort )could be emailed to stillen, then the tune will be sent with the kit. I looked on stillens site and it says a reflash will be used. How will this be done?

What.. beating it out on an abandoned airfield wasn't enough? BTW we got the same comments on the Z boards when we launched that video.. lol!
Got a few questions for the people at Stillen:
#1 What's the HP limit on this supercharger that comes with the kit on this engine?
#2 What trim V3 Vortech supercharger does the kit come with, is it an SCi or Si trim?
#3 Will there be a tune for use with vehicles with test pipes or any other mods?
#4 If not, can the test pipes be installed on the tune the kit comes with with no adverse affects?
#5 Will there be a different sized pulley for more HP potential for the supercharger?
#6 What kind of adjustment can be done to the tuning parameters for future mods with this kit?

2. The V-3 is the SCi, but the Si (or potentially t-trim or other Vortech units) is available for custom applications.
3. There will be a tune for HFCs and Headers, but these will be worked on after the initial release of the G37 and 370Z kit in the CARB-pending configurations.
4. Test pipes, or HFCs will inevitably create an undesireable A/F ratio, and should be tuned for.
5. We have plans for a competition version, but theres a lot of other factors that come into play, such as fuel (93 octane, 100 octane, etc), modifications, etc. A tuner kit is also an option, and you can run whatever boost you'd like.
6. The tunes we provide out of the box on the initial kit are the CARB-pending version, made to work with 91 octane fuel. If you were getting your vehicle tuned, it's always better to have the shop tune from scratch, rather than working off of set parameters, so again, best idea is locating a quality tuning shop to do a full tune.
I hope that helps..

1. The horsepower limit for the V-3 in the kit is 725hp at 17psi

Manufacturing is almost complete, working on detailed instructions.. I'll post what Kyle updated in another thread:
Kits are extremely close to shipping. Right now the instructions are being checked/verified by one of our technicians. Whenever we develop a highly complex part like a supercharger system we like to give the instructions to one of our installation technicians so they can go through them line by line during an actual install. This way, if they have any questions or find something that should be changed, we can make those changes prior to shipping out kits. We are installing a production supercharger system on a local customer's car to complete this process. This is also the car that we will be using for CARB testing. Some of you local guys might recognize the owner...ABC 7 weatherman Dallas Raines.
We are also working on the instructions for the tuning process. These are pretty basic but we're hoping to use a really simple process for everyone to follow along. I don't want to say too much about this though as it is very unique and we are very excited about it. After this is completed we will be sending out the tuning software so people can begin sending us their ROM's so we can begin finalizing the tunes for everyone.
It is impossible for us to give an ETA of when our CARB testing will be completed because it is entirely dependant on CARB. I can confirm that about two weeks ago we sent CARB all of our documentation and they did confirm with us that we are the only company who has submitted for CARB approval on an aftermarket forced induction system for the VQ37. Now they need to review all of our information, the time frame on that process fluctuates. Then we get our approval for testing. Once we test the car the results get sent back to CARB for further examination. There are a lot of steps in getting CARB approval and there is just no way for us to get or give a definitive timeframe.

that's old news from the370.com
got any new pic's of the engine bay and more video's of the actual hood opened and engine running. we all would love to hear how it sounds during idling and some gassing.

Can anyone at Stillen answer this question please?
A lot of us have already purchased Uprev cable and software to tune our N/A G's. I'm assuming we will be able to upload the new maps onto the ECU using the cable we already have, correct? If that's the case then would that reduce the cost of the kit by not including the cable/software?
Thanks!
