Adding paddle shifters to g37x coupe?

Is it possible in any way to add paddle shifters to a g37x coupe? Is it possible to take a steering column with paddles from an s and install it on the x coupe? Is there an aftermarket possibility? I'm totally ignorant on this but I want an x coupe but I also want the paddles.

It sounds like $.

Buying the steering wheel with shifter... what about $2k?
Then you'd have to program the ECU because Paddle shifter w/ G37X doesn't exist.???
If programing required, I don't know who's able to do that. Probably Nissan engineers in Japan.

Well I know you can get the sport package on the awd sedan. I wonder how different the ecu would be from the awd sedan compared to the awd coupe.

A little search on this forum would've answered your question sheff, and no it does not require engineers from Japan

There are a few other threads too I believe

wow... It seems like it is just plug and play..... all the plugs are there... no wiring required. I would so do it if my car wasn't a lease.

well i got my 2010 g37x about 2 weeks ago, and i asked the same question. I was told that there was no real way to know if my car was wired for paddle shifters or not (i suppose its random?...). They said the only way to check was to dismantle aaround the plugs. My dealer (maybe not the same for your) said they wont put shifter in at the dealer, and i has to be done my a seperate company (whom infiniti trusts). All in all they didnt reccomend i do it. No big deal though, it would be more novelty they actually using them.

That's pretty easy then.
All the plugs ready to go.

I find myself using drive sport mode with the shifter more than the paddles! But if you really want them it shouldn't be a hard install. I find that the paddles are slower response than the sport mode shifter is.

I installed mine about a month ago. Took <30 minutes for the install. The part costs roughly $200USD @ riverside infiniti.

You just have to check to see if you have the pre-wiring under the column. The down shift wiring is taped to the electronic steering wheel tilt and the up shift is taped to something on the right.

You don't have to remove the steering wheel either. Agile hands while removing the bottom cover (in addition to maneuvering the steering wheel to access the screws) will do the trick without damaging your plastic covers.

I wanna add these to a G37x as well. Can the paddle shifters be used to shift from neutral to drive, say at a stoplight? Or do they just shift between lower and higher drive gears?

Who doesn't want to launch off the stoplight? Isn't that the point with all of this modding?
