computer chip for performance?

Has anyone changed their computer chip for added HP? If so, which chip did you buy, and what kind of added HP did you achieve? How much did it cost?

Thanks

Noting like that is available for these cars. Closest thing is a hand held tuner like Cobb AccessPort or having it tuned by a professional like UpRev.

Just to clarify, you don't change the chip, you install it in parallel with your factory ECU to tamper around with it's signals. Piggyback basically.

I wouldn't recommend doing that though, search of UpRev, there are many threads about it including mine, it's in my signature just click on it

What mods do you have on your car so far?

Yup, for NA cars most of those "chips" are worthless. Your best bet is something like AccessPort or a professional tune.

^^ intake and high-flow cats then a good catback and then a tune. I htink you can now buy the Stillen stage 1 for around $250 these days - gets you around 6-10 hp, 4-9 lb/ft torque, something like that - that's about as cheap as it gets...get that, get some HFCs and a Cobb (or a pro tune) , and you might gain 15 - 17 hp....8-10 torque...but that's like a 1200 investment....

+1 get the HFC. It really adds HP and makes your car response faster. However, I would hold the intake. There are many debates on intake (stillen....etc vs. stock) and personally, I feel the stock is good enough. Some intake mods (im not saying all of them) will show increase HP on dyno but the actual response to the throttle is sXXX.

I have got a superchip in my car. It's not an actual new chip but a reflash to the OEM chip. They claim it to be 20~25HP increase which I doubt it is true. But, after i get the chip, i feel much smoother transmission and better response to the throttle. Also, it's proven that after I got the chip, my 0-60mph time decreased from 6.2sec to 5.87sec (this is for superchips + fujitsubo exhaust + berk HFC). Just for your ref.
