Fuel Issue

Guys. I need your input. I have had some problems with the car while fueling. The gas pump will shut off at 3/4 of tank like the tank is full and if you try to slow down the fueling it will spit back at you some times up to a quart. Have any of you had a similar incident? I have only had it happen to me once but the wife has had it happen a couple of times. Any ideas before I take back to the dealer. I never had this happen before on any of the cars and trucks I have owned.

Thanks for you input!

Try doing a search on the forum. There's been a few discussion on this or similar issue with refueling. I've had it cut off before it's full. I'd run it almost dry and was only allowed to refuel 14-15gal when the tank is 20 gal. Took it to the dealer and they found the resistance in my fuel sensor was bad. Replaced it and it hasn't happened since.

In any case, I think the dealership should be able to take care of it. Good luck.

My car is currently at the dealership getting inspected for this as well. Sometimes I get gas but my tank only shows anywhere from 3/4 to 7/8 full. Yesterday, I went into work and my fuel warning kicked in before I pulled in. After work, I started heading toward the gas station, and about a block before, I look at my gauge and I suddenly have 1/4 of a tank. So then I'm like wtf, so I go drive to my girlfriend's house about 5 miles away. I get there, and then my tank is on E.

Anyway, it looks like they'll be doing what they did to ucla bruin's car. Gonna enjoy my rental for the day while I have it. =)

Riverside Infiniti changed out my passenger side fuel level sensor under warranty for the same issue.
