Review Fast Intention's Double Resonated Test Pipes!
Evo's are interesting because they look relatively modded to begin with and unless you really pump the huge turbo it's a simple MIVEC 2-liter 4 banger on the smog dyno and will pass everytime.
Also, lots of Evo aftermarket parts are available that have CARB approval like most Injen parts I've seen on Evo

^HFC's and Test pipes are the same parts , you either have one or the other..
Its either
Headers -> HFC's -> Exhaust (Full)
Headers -> Test Pipes -> Exhaust (Full)
In this case it would be,
Long Tube Headers -> Straight to Exhaust

Man who ever came up with the name test pipes sure deserves a beating for all the confusion he has caused..
Test Pipe is nothing but a lame straight pipe that connects the Short Tube Headers (OEM-like) to the Catback. In the American & German market, they are known as cat deletes because they simply, well, delete the OEM cats lol. Deleting cats 90% of the times tends to generate rasp (it did with my FI Catback at least) that is why many companies "Resonate them" (like I did with mine). They basically cut a section of that straight hollow pipe and fit a resonated pipe (which come in certain lengths).
The resonator or resonated pipe is nothing but a perforated pipe (a pipe with uniformly distributed pores) with Rockwool wrapped around that pipe for sound absorbtion which is all confined in a larger pipe.
Perforated Pipe:

Section Cut of a Resonator:

This cut down on most of the rasp and caused the note to become even deeper. Now the one Staples just reviewed was custom ordered (and thanks to FI's magic) to have TWO resonators on each side, rather than just one. So you can imagine how sexual this thing will sound.

That's my same issue. It's hard as hell to get a decent sounding video clip. The test pipes are just too damn deep. I'm waiting for my camcorder to ship, so I can finally shoot some footage.
