Up-Rev Tuned: 2008 G37 6mt. (probably one of the first)

Alright guys, here we go.

I went to S&R Performance today to finally get my tune. The guys there were pretty cool and let me wander all over the place. I also think the tuner knew exactly what he was doing. We did like 4 runs total. The first one was 275whp, 308whp, 311whp, and then it went back to 302whp. I have 4 different maps, each having a different rev limit.

Map 1: full rev band (up to redline)
Map 2: max revs lowered to 3500
Map 3: 4000rpm
map 4: 4500rpm

For launch control: I go to whichever map i want to launch at, then specify after launching to revert back to map1, and it goes. i gotta try it out to see how it works.

Heres some pics
about to go on the dyno

too low, haha

strapped down

first run of 275, i didnt get a jpeg copy on my jump drive but i have a pic from my blackberry

the jpeg's that were copied to my jumpdrive of the runs:

302whp (final run)

311whp (best run)

A couple vids.

Overall i'm pretty satisfied with the gains. Now i'm not positive that i made a (275 > 311) gain because the 275 run ended at 6k rpm.

My blackberry did all the pictures/videos, so uh.. the quality isn't that good. Anyone know how the "Dynomite" dyno compares to something like a dynojet?

I'm not sure you made a gain either, since if you loko at around 5750 RPM on all your graphs, it looks like you're doing about 275.

If anything, it looks like the 302 was the baseline, and the 311 was the tuned dyno, as the 311 dyno is much smoother.

Congrats on the gains!

With the assumption that the 302 is your baseline, this dynomite reads a bit high. However, it does read that the "standard" correction factor is being used, not SAE. A stock G37 dynos around 275-280whp on a dynojet. As different dynos can't really be compared, just focus on your % gains

Yeah, i think we didn't get a good baseline that i could compare off of. Probably should have run the car before connecting any OBD ports, but i don't believe we did.

You're saying you didn't get a baseline dyno?

Your AF numbers in the first graph are scary btw

Not really anything I can say without a baseline...

The 311 is the "best" run and the 302 is the "final" run =X

10 hp variance is within the variance range of the dyno... so no way to tell what his gains actually were, if any.

^ Yep, thats exactly what i was thinking. All they gave me on the jump drive was a final run and a best run.

Can you stop by and ask for the first pull before tuning? Every shop I know of here in CA records every single pull done on their dynos.

Its in Tampa. about a hour and 45min drive from where i am. I can give them a call and see if they can email it to me. I was standing by the car the entire time, and the 275 was the very first run, and the laptop was already connected to the ecu.

Mikey, did they move their dyno over to the other building?

Also, not sure if makes a big difference but I think they dyno in 4th and I think our 1:1 gear is actually 5th. Anyone?

Yes i did notice that he shifted to 4th for the pulls. They relocated to the building next door, and yeah the dyno was moved also.

I was going to say something, but i figured he knew what he was doing. Is there a difference?

Nah it don't really make a difference.

As long as all the pulls were all done in the same gear you're straight.

Gear doesn't matter as long as the ratio is properly input into the dyno.
